European Group Cat Association e.V. - EGCA e.V. It is the urgent target of the EGCA to associate Cat Clubs for the same breeding- and exhibition policies for the benefits of the breeders and exhibitors to create the same trainee directions for judges in future. Important for the enrolement on the EGCA is not mass, but class. Accordingly the family of EGCA-Clubs is growing slowly but surely. Being an ideal organization only we do neither charge any admission- nor membership- or other fees. Therefore the EGCA is an association which answers the ideal purpose exclusively. The EGCA has intentionally resigned the publication of an own standard for not confusing the exhibitors and breeders in addition. We acknowledge all standards of the recognized organizations like CFA, FIFe, GCCF and S.C.F.F..
***news*** WE DO NOT RECOGNIZE BURMESE IN SILVER AND TABBY VARIETIES Dear Member, Due to latest happenings we have to inform you, that we only recognize pedigrees, show certificates that mention BURMESE in their 10 traditional colours. A Burmese has always been without any barring and never comes in silver. Such cats that appear at shows and are part of the best in show along with purebred Burmese should not be entered anymore. Even when you breed or show a different breed you shuld be very aware that such fraud could happen to your breed as well. Should these silver cats be presented as ASIANS and their pedigree is such of an ASIAN too then of course there is no problem to allow them at shows and for best in shows within the ASIAN group of cats. We would appreciate it could everybody help to maintain this extraordinary breed and point out to any potential buyer that a cat which is called BURMESE and has at the same time silver and/or tabby as colour and pattern in its pedigree and has cost a small fortune is in acutal fact a moggie. We are very happy to say though that "Thank God" there are capable judges who refuse to judges ASIANS AS BURMESE.
